I am a 27-year resident of Laguna Beach. My husband Mike and I are raising our four kids here and have been in the Laguna Beach Unified School District for over 17 years. Our two boys have graduated LBHS and moved on to college. This insight gives me important first-hand knowledge and hands-on experience of the importance of education in our secondary schools and navigating the college admissions process. We have NCAA D1 and D2 students in college, both athletes and an Honors college student and academic scholarship recipient, offering an added level of experience in the college recruiting path. Our daughters are at Thurston and the High School involved in theater and dance. After having athletes in traditional sports, the change of focus has been an exciting opportunity for us all and allows me to have a broad vision of the opportunities and experiences within our fine District. I am invested and committed. Mike and I run a business together and we enjoy working on our home. In addition, we love traveling, being outdoors, skiing, hiking, ocean sports, and hanging out at the beach. We appreciate playing card games, board games, puzzles and hanging out with some of the nicest and coolest people I know. My kids! I have been an advocate for our District families and our community property tax payers for over 10 years, standing before the Board and participating in their workshops over 40 times. I am the most diversely experienced candidate running and a strong voice for our community and most importantly our students. I ask the hard questions, demand transparency, fiscal responsibility and accountability. I wont back down in being a voice for our community, in seeking answers and to continue the committment to working together with our teachers, staff, students, families AND the community to find solutions. It is time we change the narrative on what we want our community schools to look like and how we want to be represented. If you want a voice, I am your choice.
